Ana Alonso

Ana Alonso (Tarrasa, Barcelona, 1970). A Spanish writer and translator, Ana Alonso studied Biology at the University of León and has worked both as a secondary school teacher and a translator. In the literary field, Alonso has received acclaim not only for her books for young people, but for her poetry; she was a runner up for the Adonais prize in 2003, for the Alfons el Magnamin, the Antonio Machado or the Hyperion in 2005. Alonso is best known, however, for her children's fiction, for which she has won prizes such as El Barco de Vapor, and her series La llave del tiempo ('The Key of Time'), written with Javier Pelegrín, and a touchstone in the genre today.
