An actor, clown and teacher, Alain Vigneau (France, 1959) was the founder and head of the La Stravagante theatre company, with which he travelled the world for twenty years. As a collaborator with Clowns Without Borders, he performed in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Namibia and Indonesia. He has taught Drama and Clown in the Masters in Art Therapy program of AEC/UVIC (Barcelona), and was co-founder of the Conciencia y Artes Escénicas centre in Puebla de los Ángeles (Mexico). He is a disciple of and has worked with Dr. Claudio Naranjo in Spain, Italy, Germany, Mexico, France, Russia, the United States, Chile and Brazil. Internationally recognised as one of the greatest exponents of the fusion of clown and gestalt theory, he regularly works in centres of personal and/or artistic development in European and in Latin American, where he gives seminars in Clown Essential, a method which he created.
