Pablo d’Ors

Pablo d’Ors (Madrid, 1963) was born into a family of artists. He is the grandson of the essayist and art critic, Eugenio d‟Ors, he is a narrator, hospital chaplain and critic in the ABCD las Artes y las Letras, where he reviews central European narrative. He also lectures Theology in a Madrid seat of the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, at the Ateneo de Madrid and at the Cefyt de Córdoba (Argentina), amongst other centres of study.

His literary debut took place in 2000 with the work, El estreno, a collection of short stories, which received high critical acclaim, and with Las ideas puras, one of the finalists for the Herralde literary award. Subsequently, he published his novel, Andanzas del impresor Zollinger (Anagrama, 2003), recently translated into Catalan by the publishing house, El Funambulista; and now, with Pre-Textos, Astonishment and Wonder, his third novel.

In addition to organizing a reading workshop for university students and providing spiritual guidance for the sick and terminally ill of the Hospital Ramón y Cajal, d’Ors is currently living and writing in a vaulted house he has had built in an immigrant neighbourhood of the city of his birth.
