London welcomes the first Festival of Ibero American Literature
Foyles bookshop, one of the most important in London, in collaboration with ACALASP, the Association of Cultural Attaches of Latin America, Spain and Portugal, are organising the first Festival of Ibero-American Literature in London.
The event, which will take place in the bookshop’s building from the 10th to 15th of November, is structured into different talks, workshops and other cultural events. In addition, several prestigious writers, academics and journalists, will be discussing different topics related to the different ways in which a culture could be displayed, such as art, music and literature.
There is a special session dedicated to the relevance of translations in the literary market, in which professionals such us Dr Stefan Tobler, Professor Amanda Hopkinson and Professor Peter Bush explain the crucial role of the translator in bringing Hispanic literature into the UK, and how the opportunities to foreign narratives are increasing in this market.
