Inspector Julio Velázquez is investigating the death of Rodrigo Barbosa, a lonely man in his forties who worked as a machine operator at a cardboard factory on the outskirts of the city. What is initially considered a suicide takes on a new dimension with a series of deaths that unfold in an unexpected yet systematic fashion, with no clues to follow other than a strange spear-shaped symbol. With the help of Spanish-Canadian Jorge Morrison and the charismatic deputy inspector Rosa Pulido, the young and brilliant inspector will have to face the most complex case of his career so far, while struggling to keep his work separate from his personal dramas: his strange relationship with his ex-wife, his conflicting feelings towards his outgoing playboy brother, and his role caring for his senile grandmother.
