There are truths that can seem incredible, so to avoid problems it might seem best to tell a little white lie. But if this still doesn't sound convincing, we have to invent another, bigger lie: a big fat lie, a rotten lie, or a dirty great lie. But the true truth, however unlikely it might sound, sooner or later will come to light. We adults tend to lecture the little guys, telling them that: "you must always tell the truth", but they like to play with imagination and half-truths and its not always easy to tell the whole truth. In the game of truth and lies played out in this book, the author skilfully assembles a full repertoire of little lies told by little people to get out of a scrape. The illustrations are attractive and as full of humour as the story.
