Young journalist Miguel Bravo is dreaming of a life of adventure when a great opportunity means he is sent to Burma to cover the Saffron Revolution led by Buddhist monks. In the midst of a country in turmoil Bravo becomes submerged in the fascinating life of a group of international foreign correspondents. Their rivalries, fears, dreams, light and shadow are brought out to their extremes when the dictatorship represses the protests and confines the reporters to their hotel. The friendship between Bravo and Daniel Vinton, a legendary but world-weary reporter, and his love for enigmatic translator Nann Lay are the prelude to the tragedy he will face in this acid test. Can love, friendship and truth survive the darkness of the human condition?
