Alex Belle is a thirteen-year-old girl who lives in Bristol, UK, and has one great passion: ballet. When her dance school organizes a performance of Swan Lake, she feels extremely lucky to be given the starring roles of the White Swan and the Black Swan. But her life takes an unexpected turn when, under distinctly odd circumstances, she falls into a local lake and becomes lost in its depths. When she wakes up, Alex finds herself in the Kingdom of Lussel, where everyone is looking for a missing princess. While she searches for a way home, Alex will have to overcome great challenges, face fearsome villains and choose between the role she has been given to play and the person she wants to be, a decision that could either save the missing princess or condemn her to oblivion.
