Luis Prats studied History of Art and Archaeology at UAB and UdG universities and spent several years working in research and teaching. He has worked as a teacher in both primary and secondary schools, as an editor of books on art and as a film producer in Los Angeles. He has written an academic book "Cine Para Educar" ("Cinema as an Educational Tool") (Belacqua), books on art, an historical novel ("Aretes de Esparta" ("Aretes of Sparta") (Pamies)) and more than a dozen novels for children and young adults translated into various languages including "Concurs enverinat" ("The Poisoned Contest"), Ed. Baula, "La petita coral de la senyoreta Collignon" ("Senyoreta Collignon's Little Choir"), Shackleton, "Expedició a l'Antàrtida" ("Expedition to the Antarctic"), Ed. Bambú.
