Carmen Gil has published over 90 books with houses including Planeta, SM, Lumen, Hiperión and Kalandraka, and has been translated into 15 languages. Her book Daniela's Smile was awarded a White Raven from Munich International Children's Library. She takes part in literary collaborations for school texts (SM, Santillana, Casals) and writes articles for specialist magazines. She won an award from the Federación Navarra de Ikastolas for The Princess who Couldn't Stop Yawning, and the Golden Medal of Merit in Education in Andalusia in 2011 for her work to promote reading. Three of her books have been selected by the Mexican government and another two by the Chilean government to be available in the countries' main public libraries. She also collaborates with various institutions to give conferences and events for readers.
